Redstone Engineering Guide

Master redstone mechanics, logic gates, and complex circuits to automate your world

📚 Redstone Fundamentals

Power Levels

  • • Power ranges from 0-15
  • • Decreases by 1 per redstone dust
  • • Repeaters refresh to full power
  • • Comparators can read partial power
  • • Strong vs weak power sources

Tick System

  • • 1 redstone tick = 2 game ticks
  • • 10 redstone ticks per second
  • • Repeaters: 2-8 tick delay
  • • Comparators: 2 tick delay
  • • Pistons: 0 tick activation

🎯 Golden Rules

  1. 1. Redstone can power blocks above and below
  2. 2. Transparent blocks don't conduct power
  3. 3. Redstone torch inverts the signal above it
  4. 4. Pistons can push max 12 blocks
  5. 5. Observers detect any block change
