Enchantment Planner

Compare enchantments that fit your item and sketch a loadout before you spend levels in-game.

Planning scores are a quick comparison aid, not exact Vanilla anvil costs.

Know the limit: Exact anvil cost depends on the item, book order, prior-work penalties, and edition. Use this score to compare plans, then confirm the final sequence in-game.

Field notes

Enchanting essentials

Bookshelf setup

Place 15 bookshelves around the table with one block of air between them to unlock level 30 offers.

Mutually exclusive picks

Fortune and Silk Touch cannot share the same tool. Selecting one here automatically removes the other.

XP supply

Mob farms, trading halls, and Enderman farms can provide a steady source of levels for larger gear projects.

Prior-work penalty

Every previous anvil operation can raise later costs, so preserve a clean base item until your book plan is ready.

Spend levels with intent

Turn a wishlist into a workable item

Use the planner to narrow down compatible effects and compare the relative weight of a setup. It is a planning aid, not a prediction of enchanting-table randomness.

Edition & scope note

The planning score is relative and does not reproduce every anvil penalty, table roll, trade price, or edition-specific rule.

  1. 01

    Choose the exact item

Available enchantments and conflicts change between swords, tools, armor, bows, and utility gear.

  2. 02

    Add the core effects first

Start with the enchantments that define the item, then add durability or convenience effects around them.

  3. 03

    Check conflicts before combining

Mutually exclusive choices such as Fortune and Silk Touch should become separate items rather than one impossible plan.
